Post VII: A career related website that you enjoy visiting
Today
I’m going to write about dixit.io. This site is a useful tool to all of us who are studying journalism, because allows us to be
updated every minute. Basically, this site is a constant news feed content in a lot of multi-colored
squares. I
visit it more often when i need to be updated for my Radio 1 and Advanced
Reporting classes.
The
site was created as an experiment by Tomás Pollak, a journalist who studied at
the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. It has six sections; ‘wtf?’:
where there’s a brief introduction of how it works (basically, the news that
get more retweets on Twitter at the moment become the latest news, that’s why is
so important).
Then,
it is ‘fecha’ (date) when you can choose news from now, today, the week or the month.
Also, you can choose by ‘categoría’ (category); all of them, national, world, sports, economy, technology, magazines
and trends.
Finally,
there’s ‘formato’ (format) that allows you to choose how to see the news feed
(horizontal or vertical), ‘notificaciones’ (notifications) and ‘extra!’, when
an important event it is happening.
PD:
This site was recommended to me a year ago, by my classmate Montse (:
